The Ta Xua Peak, located on the border between Tram Tau (Yen Bai) and Bac Yen (Son La) districts, is the lowest among the top 10 highest peaks in Vietnam, standing at 2865 meters. The Ta Xua Trekking route, especially from Tram Tau, is considered one of the most challenging yet enticing trekking paths in Northern Vietnam. For mountain climbing enthusiasts, conquering Ta Xua is a symbolic achievement. The trek involves long, steep ascents through mystical mossy forests, climbing narrow trails, mountain slopes, and steep cliffs along the “dinosaur backbone.”
The feeling of reaching the summit and looking back at the journey is indescribable, known only to those passionate about trekking. Additionally, Ta Xua is renowned as a famous cloud-hunting destination, promising countless thrilling experiences waiting to be discovered.
18:00: Arrive at the departure point to take the bus to Tram Tau, Yen Bai. We will stop along the way for dinner if needed.
23:00: Arrive in Tram Tau and stay overnight at a beautiful and cozy homestay.

05:30: Wake up early for breakfast and prepare for the trekking journey.
07:00: Take a 30-minute drive to Ban Cong, where we will transfer to motorbike taxis to reach the starting point of the trek.
09:00: Begin the trek, conquering the first slopes.
11:00: Stop for lunch along the way. After lunch, continue trekking and conquer the legendary “dinosaur spine.”
17:00: Arrive at the overnight hut (Hut 2). Settle in, freshen up, and rest after the day’s trek. While waiting for dinner, you can help the porters with cooking or stroll around the hut to enjoy the sunset.
18:30: Have dinner, socialize, and share experiences with fellow trekkers. Enjoy the tranquility of the mountain forest. Overnight in a windproof wooden hut with blankets and insulated mats.

05:30: Wake up early for breakfast, and enjoy hot coffee or ginger tea. After breakfast, start the final trek to reach the Ta Xua summit. Near the summit, we will pass through a mystical mossy forest with many enchanting photo opportunities.
08:00: Reach the summit of Ta Xua, rest, take photos, and enjoy the scenery.
08:30: Head back to the overnight hut. Upon arrival, pack up and trek down the mountain.
12:00: Have lunch along the way.
15:00: Return to the starting point. Take motorbike taxis to Ban Cong and then the car back to Tram Tau.
16:00: Relax with a hot mineral bath after the challenging trek.
17:30: Enjoy dinner with local specialties.
18:30: Take the bus back to Hanoi.
24:00: Arrive in Hanoi. End of the program.

Discovery level tours (6/10): Most people can participate, and children from around 6 years old can join with their parents. Light physical preparation will enhance the comfort and ease of outdoor activities during the tour. The tour duration is typically 2 days. For trekking at this level, trekking time is around 2-3 hours per day on relatively easy terrain. Kayaking or SUP tours at this level involve paddling for 2-3 hours per day on large water surfaces or flowing streams, with ample time for photography stops and rest breaks.

3. Liability Waiver:
Customers purchasing Umove Adventure’s adventurous tours are fully aware of the “adventurous” nature, physical challenges, and inherent risks in the tour. Therefore, customers are required to read and sign a Liability Waiver before departure. Please read the contents of the Liability Waiver below carefully before registering to participate.
4. Notes on the Trekking Route:
This trekking route has quite rugged terrain and is considered more challenging than other routes such as Ta Chi Nhu, Lao Than, and Nhiu Co San. You should prepare physically before the trip (refer to the Physical Preparation Recommendations).
Umove Adventure recommends you bring a backpack of about 10L and keep it under 2kg, including essential items like wallet, phone, and water. Your personal belongings such as clothes to change at the hut, daily drinking water, and food for meals on the mountain will be carried by the porters.
5. Sleeping on the Mountain:
We will spend one night at Hut 2. There are restrooms and showers available here. You will be provided with an air mattress or insulated mat and a blanket or sleeping bag for sleeping.
6. Food & Drink:
Dinners on the mountain are hot meals cooked by the porters. Breakfast can be fried rice, instant noodles, or crepes. Lunch is usually pre-prepared cold food.
Drinking water on the mountain will be boiled from stream water by the porters to ensure it’s safe. Participants should bring a water bottle to fill and use daily.
At the overnight point, there will be hot tea and coffee available before and after each meal.

7. Safety & Health Advisory:
If you have heart disease or joint issues (knees, ankles, shoulders, etc.), consult a doctor before deciding to join the trip. Guides will carry basic first aid kits. If you have specific health concerns requiring medication, please bring your own medications.
In all cases, if you enter the water for swimming, you must wear a life jacket.
You should visit Ta Xua between September and April of the following year. This period is the most suitable for cloud hunting and watching the sunrise.

This tour is suitable for children from 12 years old and above, accompanied by their parents or an adult.
This trekking route has quite rugged terrain and is considered more challenging than other routes like Ta Chi Nhu, Lao Than, Nhiu Co San. You should refer to the notes and instructions to prepare for a trek rated 8/10 in difficulty.
This is a group tour, so you can join the tour alone. However, the minimum number of participants required for the tour to commence is 7. If the minimum number is not met, UA will notify you one week in advance so you can decide to reschedule or get a refund of your deposit.
You will need to inform Umove Adventure of your vegetarian or dietary requirements when booking the tour. We will check if the destination can accommodate your needs and notify you. Usually, Umove Adventure can provide vegetarian options depending on the tour location.
VNA Tour does not organize tours specifically for guests with pets. Bringing pets will depend on the agreement of the other tour participants. If you wish to bring your pet, Umove Adventure will ask the other participants for their consent, and you will be fully responsible for maintaining general hygiene and the safety of your pet.
A type of pit latrine will be used for tours deep into the forest. Rangers will arrange a discreet, private area for you. At the wooden hut in Ta Xua, where we will stay overnight, there are toilets and showers for your personal needs.
